We seek to build a school, community, and culture that reflects the Kingdom of God. At Westminster, differences are valued, embraced, and celebrated. We affirm that God intends for the world to be a diverse place (Genesis 9:19) and that His Church would include people from every nation, tribe, people, and language (Revelation 7:9).
“After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb…”

Changing the World for Christ
Our school vision declares that we “prepare and equip young men and women to engage the world and change it for Jesus Christ.” As followers of Christ, we are called to unflinchingly and appropriately condemn evil, injustice, and lawlessness. Westminster is committed to helping students understand the imperative of promoting justice and peace, finding appropriate ways to speak to injustice, and actively seeking to redress injustice whenever and wherever it occurs.
Pursuing Cultural Engagement in the Classroom
Our academic program offers much in the way of cultural engagement. Our course offerings include Worldviews, Race and Culture, Psychology, Global Conflicts, and many more. In addition to these offerings, teachers in all classes consistently strive to help our students understand and engage with the world around them based on the biblical truth that is at the core of Westminster’s mission and vision. This engagement is centered on the belief that we cannot ignore the difficult issues of our time. Instead, we must work to understand them so that we might provide solutions and restoration to our communities and our world.

Reaching Higher as a Community
We understand that it takes time, effort, and intentionality—along with much prayer—to create a biblical, multicultural community. Westminster is regularly reviewing existing councils, programs, and practices—and implementing new ones—as we work to grow in understanding and unity as a school community. Recently implemented initiatives include:
-
Cultural awareness training led by Aaron Layton, Coordinator for Minority Community Development & Inclusion and Westminster’s Faculty Minority Outreach Council.
-
The Faculty Minority Outreach Council is a council made up of Westminster teachers and staff that serve and support Aaron Layton the Coordinator of Minority Community Development and Inclusion, in his role to help minority students and their families to transition, flourish and thrive within the Westminster community.
-
Once a month Westminster hosts a Minority Student Lunch. The lunch serves to help the students to get to know one another, Mr. Layton and other faculty members with a desire to actively and intentionally support Westminster's minority student population.
