Will Powers Recognized for Milestone on the Court

Junior Will Powers etched his name into Westminster basketball history over Christmas Break, becoming the 11th player in program history to reach 1,000 career points. Powers hit the milestone during the Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament, capping off another standout stretch for the junior guard and adding to a season filled with scoring milestones.

Before the Wildcats’ January 27 matchup against Ladue, Powers was recognized in a pregame ceremony for his accomplishment. Entering that game, he had already climbed to fifth place on the school’s all-time scoring list with 1,240 career points—a testament to both his consistency and his continued rise as one of the program’s premier scorers.

Reaching 1,000 points is a significant achievement at Westminster, placing Powers among an elite group of Wildcats who have left a lasting mark on the program. With more basketball still ahead of him this season and beyond, Powers continues to advance toward the program record held by Class of ‘23 alumnus and Missouri State University standout Kobi Williams (1429pts).
