We are proud to celebrate former boys soccer head coach Dan Legters, who was recently honored with the prestigious Steve Krause 12th Man Award by the Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) on June 12 at the World Wide Technology Soccer Park during the Missouri Athletic Club High School All-Star Games, receiving the award between the girls and boys all-star matches.

The Steve Krause 12th Man Award recognizes an individual for years of dedication and commitment to making a positive impact on high school soccer. Few have embodied those qualities more fully than Coach Legters throughout his remarkable 25-year career leading the Wildcat soccer program.

During his tenure at Westminster, Legters established one of the most successful programs in the area, compiling 326 career victories, winning three district championships, and guiding the Wildcats to the 2023 MSHSAA Class 2 State Championship. His teams were consistently known for their competitiveness, discipline, and commitment to excellence. But while the wins and championships are impressive, Coach Legters’ greatest legacy extends far beyond the soccer field. For more than two decades, he invested in the lives of countless student-athletes, helping shape young men of character, faith, and leadership. His influence as a teacher, mentor, and coach has left a lasting impact on generations of Wildcats.

This summer, Legters is stepping away from coaching and education to pursue a new calling in missions, where he will serve as a translator in Latin America. Though his role is changing, his impact on the Westminster community will continue to be felt for years to come.

Congratulations to Coach Legters on this well-deserved honor, and thank you for 25 years of faithful leadership, service, and dedication to Westminster soccer. The Wildcat community celebrates this recognition and wishes him the very best in his next chapter.

The MAC All-Star Games also saw seniors Jacob Stinebaker and Alyssa Edwards invited to compete, with Stinebaker also receiving the Sam Copple Goalkeeper Award. Congratulations, Jacob and Alyssa!
