Wrestling Wildcats' Season Ends with State Meet

The wrestlers who finished the season in great form. Westminster had six qualifiers and three earned medals at the State meet. Senior Dick Ross earned his second State medal by taking sixth at 140. Brett Park, senior, took fifth at heavyweight and beat several high-quality opponents. Senior Max Piazza earned his second State medal by taking fourth at the meet. Piazza wrestled the eventual champion to a 2-1 decision that could have gone either way. This meet was a strong event for the whole team and capped a great season and excellent careers for seniors Micah Mills, Alex Cacciarelli, Brett Park, Max Piazza and Dick Ross.

Varsity Hockey Wins 8-3 Against John Burroughs

History was made during the January 23 varsity hockey game, as Katie Matheny became the first girl to score during a league game. Katie scored the eventual game-winning goal in the Wildcats' 8-3 victory over John Burroughs. Blake Armstrong and Andrew Everett each scored two goals, and Nathan Smallwood earned a hat trick in the third period. The last regular season game is Friday, January 29 at 9 p.m. against Parkway West.

Varsity Soccer Team and Players Receive State Recognition

The varsity Wildcat soccer team recently received recognition for their outstanding season and was recognized for their #3 finish in Missouri Class 2 soccer. Senior Connor Hunsicker was named Class 2 co-offensive player of the year. Other Wildcats to be recognized included seniors Jake Grimes (first team) and Matt Hudnut (second team).
