Hole In One
HOLE-IN-ONE Seventh grade student Blake Gierse collected his first ever hole-in-one on Saturday in the first match of the season for the seventh grade boys. As a matter of fact, it was the first hole of the match and the first shot on the young season. Blake pulled out his five iron on the par three, 130-yard hole. Eyeing down his target he took aim in the early morning mist, tugged at his shirtsleeves, started his backswing and let it fly. The ball sailed into the gray sky like a laser tracking its intended destination, hit the green and with a few bounces struck the flag stick and dropped into the hole. Blake was able to keep his composure for the rest of the round and turned in the best seventh grade score of the day. Blake is the first middle school student to ever ace a hole in competition.
