Bell, a sophomore, watched as first-round leader Drew Decker of Excelsior Springs bogeyed two of the first three holes and then quadruple-bogeyed No. 4 at Springfield's Rivercut Golf Course. Playing in the same group as Decker, Bell had quickly made up his 2-shot deficit after an opening-round 74. Bell focused on making pars and shot a second-round 75 to win the Class 3 tournament with a 5-over 149 total.

State Champ St. Marys falls to WCA
On Monday afternoon WCA traveled to south city to meet St. Marys the perennial powerhouse in the sport. After the scoring table mistakenly changed a 19-17 WCA lead to a 18-18 tie, the first game went into extra points to determine the victor. While somewhat demoralizing to have victory snatched away, the team came from behind in game 2 and led from the mid-point of game three silencing the large St. Marys crowd accustomed to winning.
This was an awesome victory demonstrating how far the team has come over the last few years.
Senior Sang Jin In's sets to Junior Adam Miller and Seniors Matt Rohlfing, Erik Lewis and Lee Davis resulted in the bulk of the scoring. This is not to diminish the incredible digs contributed by the defense which is led by Seniors Ben Baldwin, and Libero Juan Mundo.
