Wildcat Warrior Battle Ends in Tie
The seventh grade girls soccer (B team) fought tooth and nail against the Warriors of Whitfield yesterday afternoon. The game was scoreless throughout the entire first half, but the Wildcats pulled ahead at the beginning of the third quarter when Miranda Dabney (with the help of her sister, Taylor) scored the first goal on a cross from forward, Elizabeth Dusenberg. The Warriors then retaliated, scoring two quick goals to put Whitfield ahead 2-1. However, Westminster was not going to give up. With only two minutes to play, Dusenberg capitalized once again, this time receiving a beautiful pass from the outside. She settled the ball, took the shot, and yes, tied the game! The game ended just minutes later in a 2-2 tie. Other outstanding performances were shown by Laura Brands, Ellie Linhoff, and goalie, Becky Weiss. Way to go Lady Wildcats!
