Winning streak reaches 5 games
The Lady 'Cats scored early and often as they plated 13 runs in the first inning against the Crusaders. They scored the runs on 5 hits, 4 walks, and took advantage of 5 Crusader errors. Nine of the Lady 'Cats got hits led by Bryn McKie and Ellie Huffman with 2 hits apiece. Jessica Johnson pitched a complete game for the victory. Congrats Ladies.
Winning streak reaches 4 games
The softball team won their fourth straight game with an 8-0 shutout over St. Elizabeth. Jessica Johnson (3-2) and Rebecca Nixon held the opponent to 5 hits over 7 innings to record the season's first shutout. Sophomore outfielder, Katie Matheny, paced the offense with 3 hits and 4 rbi's. Seven other Wildcats had hits in the win.
Winning streak reaches 3 games
The lady 'Cats ran their winning streak to three games as they beat Villa in their home opener 11-5. Ellie Huffman, Katie Matheny, and Andria Graeler each had three hits and multiple RBI's. Jocelyn Sheffield belted a mammoth two-run Home Run to right center field as well as starting two double plays from left field. Rebecca Nixon pitched 6 strong innings for her first Varsity win on the mound.
Softballers even their record at 2-2
The Lady 'Cats won their second game in a row to even their record at 2-2. A 9 run second inning proved to be too much for Lutheran St. Charles. Katie Matheny and Bryn McKie each had 3 hits to lead a 12 hit attack, while Ellie Huffman added a couple hits and 4 RBI's. Every Wildcat starter had either a hit or an RBI. A true team effort. Jessica Johnson retired the final 11 batters she faced to get the complete game victory.
WCA records first win of the season
The Lady Wildcats won their first game of the year in dramatic fashion. Down to their last strike and losing by 2 runs, Senior co-captain, Jordan Klein, cleared the bases for a go-ahead double capping a 5 run seventh inning. For the second straight game, offense ruled the day. Ellie Huffman had 4 hits and Jocelyn Sheffield and Brynn Benes added three hits apiece. Benes led the team with 4 RBI's while Klein plated three. Jessica Johnson went the distance for the 'Cats in the victory striking out 3.
