Regular Season Ends With Win Against Chaminade
Today capped off the regular season of play. The Wildcats defeated Chaminade 6-3, in a hard fought battle. Brian Keffer and Jimmy Munson brought home straight set singles wins, and they also paired up together to bring home a doubles victory! Gregory Schoenberg and Brandon DeRousse dominated their doubles match...as did Seth Lillenberg/Nick O'Neal and Matt Reilly/Timmy Miller. Great combinations with great tennis. Jimmy Myers fought hard and came out with an amazing first set, and then his nagging back injury flared up. He still fought courageously, eventually losing in a 3rd set tiebreaker. But his determination, excellence, and commitment exemplify well what this team was all about when it came to competition. Fighters who are also gentlemen. Classy.
And other than the match against MICDS (a tie), the team has gone undefeated this year! That is the first time in school history; and given the strength of the schedule this year, that's a big deal.
While it wasn't always what we wanted or expected this season (with injuries, weather issues, and other trials) this has been an incredible tennis season with an amazing group of guys.
Onward to the Post-Season!
