Wildcats advance to Sectionals with 10 - 2 win over Ladue
Last Friday the varsity baseball team smacked 13 hits and scored 10 runs to down the Ladue Rams 10–2 to win their third Class 3 District 6 Championship in a row. Jacob Turner hit a home run and two doubles to drive in three runs. Michael Ferrara collected two hits and three RBI’s. Other hitters included Ben Turner—two singles and a double, David Mueller—two doubles, and David Roig—two singles. Jacob Turner, with relief from Justin Weststeyn, held the Rams who were averaging over 10 runs a game to just two runs off six hits. Derrick Phillips and Michael Christianson made outstanding defensive plays. Tomorrow the Cats play the Trinity Titans at home in a Sectional match up. This will be the last home game of the season. Be there and cheer the team on while wearing a baseball tee shirt. The cost is just $5, and all sizes are available in Room 103.
District Schedule updates
The Tuesday 5/13 games have been moved to Wednesday 5/14 and the Championship is now scheduled for Thusday 5/15 at 4:30 here at Westminster.
Wildcats defeat MICDS in pitcher's duel
The varsity baseball team defeated MICDS yesterday 3 – 1 in nine innings. Jacob Turner dueled Ram pitcher Pat Forbringer for seven innings and left with the score tied 1 – 1 thanks to Derrick Phillips throwing out a Ram at the plate who was trying to score from second on a hit in the bottom of the seventh. In the top of the ninth Derrick Phillips led off with a single, Jacob Turner followed with a double, Justin Weststeyn was intentionally passed, David Mueller bunted home the winning run and Michael Christianson squeezed home an insurance run to make the score 3 – 1 Cats. Justin Weststeyn pitched two innings of relief giving up no hits and striking out four Rams for his fifth win of the year—all coming in relief. On Wednesday the Cats are looking for revenge as they take on the Priory Rebels at home at 4:15.
Mueller picks up fifth win of season in Wildcats 7 - 1 victory over Clayton
The varsity baseball team downed Clayton last Friday 7 – 1. David Roig batted in four runs with two singles and a ground ball. Jacob Turner had three hits including a home run and Derrick Phillips added a single and a double. David Mueller picked up his fifth win of the season in an efficient manner throwing only 70 pitches of which only 18 were balls. The Cats take on MICDS today at MICDS at 4:15 in an important ABC League match up.

Cats put together back to back to back homers to defeat Lutheran South
With good utilization of bunts and home runs the Cats broke a 2 – 2 tie with seven runs in the top of the seventh inning yesterday to defeat Lutheran South 9 – 3. A single by Christianson, bunts by Roig, Bianca, and Weststeyn, and a two-run single by Malone put the Cats up 5 – 2. Phillips, Jacob Turner and Ferrara then hit back to back to back home runs to complete the scoring barrage. Weststeyn picked up the win in relief of Phillips. The Cats are now 4 – 0 in the ABC league and 13 – 3 over all.
Wildcats win pitching duel 7 - 0 over Parkway North
The Cats turned a great pitching duel between Blake Buntin and Jacob Turner into a rout by scoring two runs in the top of the sixth ( a walk to Phillips, a single by Jacob Turner, bunts by Ferrara and Christianson, and a sacrifice fly by Roig) and five more in the top of the seventh to topple Parkway North 7–0. Jacob Turner struck out 16 Vikings and Tye Malone went four for four at the plate.

Wildcats keep rolling 11 - 0 over Valley Park
After a three–run home run by Ben Turner the Cats scored four more runs for a seven-run first inning yesterday as they routed Valley Park 11–0 in five innings. Derrick Phillips gave up only one hit in four innings as he picked up the win. Jacob Worrell pitched a perfect fifth inning. At the plate, Michael Ferrara went three-for-three while Justin Weststeyn, Derrick Phillips, and Jacob Turner collected two hits each. The Cats are back in action on Friday at 4:15 at home against Orchard Farm.
Varsity Baseball defeats Lutheran St. Charles 10 - 0 in five innings
The varsity baseball team drubbed Lutheran of St. Charles yesterday 10–0 in five innings. The Cats scored early and often with two in the first, three in the second, and five in the third. David Mueller tossed a two-hitter for the win. Today the Cats continue play in the WCA Tournament at home at 4:15 against Valley Park.
Wildcats win league opener 9 - 0
In the ABC League opener yesterday the varsity baseball team defeated Lutheran North 9–0. Jacob Turner struck out 16 Crusaders in six innings of work and picked up the win. Jon Autry pitched the seventh. The Crusaders’ ace, Evan Wise, stymied the Cats on just three hits through the first four innings but the Cats exploded for eight runs—all with two out—in the bottom of the fifth. The big blows were a three–run double by Ben Turner and a three–run triple by Michael Ferrara. Justin Weststeyn homered in the sixth to make the final 9–0. The Cats take on Lutheran of St. Charles today at home at 4:15.

Varsity Baseball team starts season in Florida Tournament
The varsity baseball team played in the 12-team Westminster National Baseball Classic in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida over Spring Break and took home a 3rd place trophy.
