P.A.W. Parents Advancing Westminster

Who is PAW? YOU are PAW!
Are you the parent of a Westminster student? Then, you are a member of Parents Advancing Westminster!  Parent volunteerism and support has long been a highly held standard of the Westminster community.

Prior to the creation of PAW organization in 1999, a number of parent clubs existed to raise funds for various needs of the school. The creation of PAW centralized fund-raising and volunteerism, making for a more efficient means for parents to advance Westminster.

PAW is led by a volunteer board that divides responsibilities into a number of areas. Parent couples serve as the vice president for each area with the president coordinating the total effort.

You don’t have to be a board member to play a vital role in PAW! You can answer phones, stuff envelopes, work concessions, help students and teachers during Spirit Week – there are countless ways to make your gifts, talents, and time count for Westminster.

PAW is BLESSING

"Westminster teachers have impacted my children for life. I love what I hear from them when they come home and talk about class, and so I love blessing the teachers and staff through PAW. I help parents understand what PAW is through communications and how they can make a difference. It is a wonderful parent organization; I’m so glad to serve with such great people."

Michelle Burke, vice president for PAW Communications, 2008-09

PAW is FRIENDSHIP

I would have missed out on wonderful friendships, encouragement, and a whole lot of fun if I hadn’t become an involved parent with PAW. Serving is fun when you are doing it together and for a great cause. And Westminster is a great cause.

- Margaret Koebbe, president of PAW with husband Terry, 2008-2009

PAW is IMPACT

"Parents have given to improve the technology in the school (SMART Boards are in many classrooms now – just one example!), to help families attend Westminster through financial aid, to add to equipment for the Learning Center, and so much more. Generous gifts are used to improve the school – and our children’s education." – Ed Kline, vice president for Annual Giving, 2008-09
