Applying for Financial Aid
Westminster uses the along with tax and income information in order to determine financial aid awards. Please read all of the following instructions carefully; an incomplete or inaccurate application may delay or jeopardize your financial aid award.
All financial aid requests are confidential. Your family will be considered for financial aid once the Admission Committee has decided to admit your student. In order to receive a financial aid decision in the same timeframe as your admission decision, please adhere to the following procedures and deadlines. How to Apply for Financial Aid
- Visit School and Student Services for Financial Aid to access the online financial aid application.
- Read the instructions and complete the online financial aid application thoroughly. Use SSS code #1009 for Westminster Christian Academy.
- Complete and submit your application by February 1. Please also send copies of your most recent Federal Form 1040 with all accompanying schedules and your most recent W-2’s to Todd Fuller as soon as they are completed.
- If your child is admitted and you complete the above steps by March 15, you will then receive a letter from Westminster in April that details whether your family has qualified for financial aid. Please sign and return the letter by the deadline if you choose to accept the financial aid award.
Note: If one of the parents listed in question #6 on the PFS is not employed, please explain the reasons for this in the space designated for question #32. If you anticipate that you will be using services of The Learning Center, please note this as well in the space designated for question #32.
Requirements for Financial Aid Consideration
- New families: You have completed an admissions application for each of the children who you wish to enroll at Westminster, and those children have been admitted to the school. Returning families: You have submitted reenrollment forms for your child(ren) for next year.
- You do not have any outstanding tuition, fee or bookstore balances from a previous year. You are up-to-date on the current year's tuition.
- Your application is complete. You have sent a copy of the financial aid application (PFS) and your most recent Federal Form 1040 and accompanying schedules with W-2’s to Westminster Director of Finance Todd Fuller.
- Your application was submitted to SSS and copies of appropriate forms were mailed to Westminster by February 1. Families who submit applications after February 1 will only be eligible for any aid that may remain after all of the timely applicants' applications have been reviewed.
- You recognize that financial aid is awarded on current assessed need. You will need to reapply every year. If your financial situation changes, your aid award may change as well.
Additional Financial Aid Information
Through the generosity of donors who love Westminster's mission to educate students who engage the world and transform it for Jesus Christ, we are able to award approximately $175,000 per grade level in yearly financial aid. These funds are awarded to families in the following order:
- First to families who received financial aid last year and whose need for financial aid has again been substantiated for the coming year.
- Next to families whose child attended Westminster last year and did not need financial aid but due to change in circumstances now have an established need for financial aid.
- Then to new families whose need for financial aid is established.
Our Financial Aid Committee is composed of anonymous Westminster Board members who review applicants' need for tuition assistance. The committee's decisions are final. Please be assured that all information received remains private and confidential. Any financial-aid-related communication must be addressed by the Westminster Business Office.
